Can Philadelphia upset the Chiefs?

In 13 of the past 14 seasons, a team has rallied from a fourth-place finish the year prior to win its division. In 2017, one strong candidate to keep that trend moving forward is Philadelphia. Carson Wentz and the Eagles dispatched Washington to open the season, forcing Kirk Cousins into one of his worst showings in a 30-17 road win.

The best way to keep that momentum rolling — and prove 2017 isn’t a repeat of 2016 when the team started 3-0 and crashed to a 7-9 record — would be to beat the red-hot Chiefs in Week 2. Kansas City throttled New England on the road with 21 unanswered fourth-quarter points, making it an early team to beat in the NFL. Finding a way to beat the team the defending champs couldn’t figure out would be a statement from a team that finished dead last in the NFC East last winter.

Sometimes the hardest part about watching and evaluating a college quarterback can be parsing through blowouts to find positives that weren’t just handed to them by a bad defense. The NFL is a lot faster with a lot bigger guys, so it’s important to see players tested against defenders that are actually going to make plays.

Tom Jackson Elite Jersey Seven of Louisville’s nine wins in 2016 were by at least 30 points. The team’s two wins to open the 2017 season haven’t been as drastic a margin (35-28 over Purdue; 47-35 over North Carolina), but that’s still 82 points in two games.

After Clemson, the only other team on the Louisville schedule that’s currently ranked in the top 25 is Florida State. So there could be plenty more touchdowns and scoring for Jackson in 2017, but Saturday they could be tough to come by.

Authentic Mens Fran Tarkenton Jersey A year ago, Jackson passed for 295 yards and rushed for 162 yards, but his three total touchdowns were topped by Deshaun Watson’s five passing touchdowns in a 42-36 loss. It would take an even more heroic effort for Jackson to have the same kind of numbers this time around.

Marshawn Lynch flips the double birds to Titans’ Karl Klug

Marshawn Lynch played in his first game back since retiring after the 2015 season and held nothing back in his return.

It’s not the first time Lynch has drawn a finger on the field. He flipped off Seahawks offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell for calling a play-action pass to tight end Kellen Davis against the Cardinals instead of handing the ball off on third-and-goal from the 1-yard line.

Elliott’s attorneys also released a statement on Friday.

“The NFL’s findings are replete with factual inaccuracies and erroneous conclusions and it ‘cherry picks’ so called evidence to support its conclusion while ignoring other critical evidence,” the statement read in part.

Jones was reportedly “furious” about the league’s decision, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter. Jones had maintained that he did not expect Elliott to face discipline.

“There’s nothing,” Jones told USA Today in July. “I have reviewed everything. There is absolutely nothing, not one thing I’ve seen that has anything to do with domestic violence. I’ve seen nothing.”

“OBJ is gonna play” will be the Giants’ new slogan soon enough, if not this week then before too long. Manning will get his favorite target back, and Marshall, Sterling Shepard, Evan Engram, etc. should be able to get open more easily.

There’s another job little kids dream of doing, and that’s being on television. Tillman also checked that one off the list last season as a part of FOX’s NFL Kickoff show.

Congratulations to Tillman on this next phase of his career. His trademark “Peanut Punch” may come in handy in his new job, too.nike_steelers_957

Color Rush uniforms are back, beginning Thursday with the Bengals and Texans

Thursday night has a reputation for providing poor football games, or “absolute poopfests,” in the words of Richard Sherman. But they do provide one thing unique: Color Rush uniforms.

On Thursday Night Football, each team wears specialty uniforms with jerseys and pants of the same color. Last year, all 32 teams’ uniforms were revealed at the beginning of Authentic Michael Frolik Jersey the season — even if not every team wore them.

In 2017, teams are revealing the uniforms on their own and that Jaroslav Halak Youth Jersey means we haven’t seen all of them. We do know what the Houston Texans and Cincinnati Bengals will be wearing for a Week 2 matchup that is the season debut for Color Rush uniforms.

The good people of Los Angeles wanted the blue and white from the Deacon Jones and Fearsome Foursome days. Or even the blue and yellow from later years with Eric Dickerson, and later the Greatest Show on Turf, before they screwed things up and went gold.

Instead, they settled for a shitty medium and made the horns white, while keeping those gold accents on the uniforms, which are now awkward. It’s like how the Jaguars couldn’t decide whether or not they wanted black or gold helmets, so they just split the helmet down the middle and went with both.

The yellow Color Rush uniforms are what an alternate (or just the regular ol’ Color Rush) would be if the Rams made the right decision and went back to their blue and yellows.

Anyway, the Rams haven’t been really fun to watch the past few seasons. And by few seasons, I mean since 2003.

So for them to pop up on a Thursday Night Football game is fine and well, especially if it means they’re going to be in some incredibly loud uniforms while doing it. They’re playing the 49ers who are also aggressively Not Good, so hey, maybe they’ll win in a flashy manner, similar to their uniforms.

Aside from the poor field conditions, the game went off without a hitch.

Since then, the NFL has been expanding its international footprint. In 2013, the league added a second London game to the schedule, and in 2014 a third. A new high will be set with this season’s four games. There is also a regular-season game scheduled in Mexico City for the second consecutive year.

Waller said a significant number of fans will be returning for their 11th season of watching the NFL in London.
Kevin Faulk Elite Jersey
One of the coolest things, and not just that game, but all of them, is fans come from thousands of miles away, Waller said. We had German fans there, Dutch fans, a bunch of fans from Finland and Norway. One of the things that is remarkable about sports is you love to gather with other people who love what you love.

Alex Carrington Game Jersey I haven’t seen statistics, but I’d be willing to bet the vast majority of people voicing those white supremacist sentiments were from out of town, Long said at the time. The majority of the people that were defending our hometown against ideals like that were from Charlottesville, or students. It’s disheartening, but I really think it’s desperation for those folks to feel threatened by us doing the right thing.

Before the Eagles’ next game, an exhibition against the Buffalo Bills on Aug. 17, Long showed support for teammate Malcolm Jenkins’ protest against social injustice by putting an arm around him while Jenkins raised his fist in the air during the national anthem. Long has continued with that gesture every week since.

I’ve heard a lot of people say you need white athletes to get involved in the anthem protests, Long said. I’ve said before I’ll never kneel for an anthem, because the flag means something different for everybody in this country, but I support my peers.

Here’s what Marshawn Lynch’s dance party looked like from the stadium DJ booth

Marshawn Lynch being in Oakland is a good thing for everyone, and on Sunday he showed the world the breadth of his joy by dancing on the sideline. Now a new video from inside the stadium pinpoints the moment he got hyped.

The dancing happened just as Keak Da Sneak’s “Super Hyphy” and “Oakland,” featuring Vell and DJ Mustard came on during the Raiders’ home debut. The Jets were unhappy, but there’s not much that can bring them joy — the rest of us can just appreciate Marshawn being Marshawn.

It’s so unfair we only get one season of this. In a perfect world, Lynch buys the team, keeps them in Oakland and we get this atmosphere forever. It’s what the NFL needs. Lord knows relocation hasn’t exactly gone swimmingly so far.

Elliott’s accuser called police on July 22, 2016 to report a series of violent altercations with Elliott. Police did not arrest or charge Elliott at the time because they couldn’t confirm the woman’s version of the events or whether or not she and Elliott ever lived together. The officers who responded to the 911 call referred her to the Columbus City Attorney’s Office, according to the police report.

The prosecutor determined after reviewing the evidence that the “conflicting and inconsistent information” was not sufficient to charge Elliott. Ohio law also dictates that domestic violence charges can only be brought when a couple lives together, and law enforcement could not confirm Elliott lived with the woman at any point.

After the City Attorney’s Office concluded its investigation, it released all of the evidence collected, including witness statements, copies of text messages, and Donnie Shell Womens Jersey photographs of Elliott’s accuser’s injuries. Those documents showed that she was Authentic Will Blackmon Jersey not truthful about the events of July 22.

Eagles’ Ronald Darby to miss just 4-6 weeks with dislocated ankle

When Ronald Darby went down with an ankle injury in the second quarter of the Eagles’ 30-17 win over the Redskins, the worst was feared.

Darby’s right foot dangled as he fell to the turf at FedExField. The Eagles got surprisingly good news Monday when an MRI revealed no major ligament damage and Darby will be out 4-6 weeks, according to NFL Media.

ESPN notes that some players had complained about the turf being too soft.

What will the Bears offense look like without White? It was important that White stood out for the Bears in 2017 after losing Alshon Jeffery in free agency. But it appears as though his season could be over after just two receptions for six yards.

The team doesn’t have much depth to work with at the position, but has operated without White for more than two years now. Running back Tarik Cohen led the team in receptions and receiving yards against the Falcons, but it will be on players like Kendall Wright, Deonte Thompson, and Markus Wheaton to step up in White’s absence.

What does this mean for White? With his salary in year four of his rookie contract already guaranteed, the Bears won’t save money by releasing him, so he’ll likely get another chance to prove his worth.

The Bears are unlikely to pick up the fifth-year option on White after he posted a collective 21 receptions in five games over three seasons, though. That means if his season really is over, the pressure will be on the receiver to finally have a healthy season and play well in 2018, which will be the last year of his contract.avalanche_231

We know Kaepernick isn’t currently on a team

Game Womens Dan Bailey Jersey
Bridgewater’s nickname began in high school as a reference to Forrest Gump, a movie that somehow beat out The Shawshank Redemption, Pulp Fiction, and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective for Best Picture in 1994. But it soon became an acronym:

We know Kaepernick isn’t currently on a team — for non-football reasons — but hopefully he would be by the time this theoretical weekend happens. And then he can reshare this important public service announcement:

The Texans hit eject as the Brock Osweiler experiment hurtled through the atmosphere and crashed back into the Earth’s crust, opting to spend what turned out to be three premium draft picks to ship him out of Houston. Two first-round picks went to the Browns (who also absorbed Osweiler and his albatross of a contract for a second rounder) for the chance to select Watson — the draft’s winningest quarterback.

Game Womens Pernell McPhee Jersey Watson has endured an up-and-down preseason, impressing in his first appearance with the club but cooling off since then (14 of 31, zero touchdowns, one interception). That will leave Tom Savage as the team’s starter, though he’ll likely have a shorter leash than Osweiler, who was replaced after 14 starts last season. Watson gives the Texans a dynamic running threat from the pocket, but the Clemson product will have to improve his accuracy to make an impact in 2017.

Chuck Pagano mistakenly says Colts got ‘asses kicked’ by 49ers

Limited Sam Martin Jersey Colts coach Chuck Pagano obviously wasn’t in a happy mood following the Colts’ 46-9 loss Sunday. But he praised the other team.

I mean, we got our asses kicked. Credit the 49ers and coach McVay, Pagano said.

One big problem: The Colts lost to the Rams, not the 49ers, Sunday. Although Pagano correctly mentioned Rams coach Sean McVay.

Elliott’s accuser did cooperate with the league’s investigation into her allegations. She met with league investigators six times. They had concerns with her credibility, but the independent advisors assigned to the investigation found the woman’s version of events credible even when taking into account her false statement to police on July 22 and other inconsistencies.

Limited Terrell Davis Jersey The letter to Elliott announcing his suspension also noted that a lack of cooperation from Elliott wasn’t a factor. If Elliott had failed to cooperate, his suspension might have been longer.

Elliott and Cowboys owner Jerry Jones both lamented the length of the league’s investigation. It took over a year for a few reasons, including the NFLPA waiting until May to turn over Elliott’s phone records and other relevant documents to the NFL.

Wentz deserves some of the blame for a throw that wasn’t easy for his oft-criticized receiver to bring in, but Agholor was only put under pressure to make the catch because Torrey Smith whiffed on his attempt to block Kendall Fuller and then basically stood up and watched as Washington recovered the fumble.

Turner’s extended absence could be an issue for a wide receiver group that is much deeper than last season.

Luck is back to throwing, but the team’s hesitance to talk about his return and his lack of practice reps with the team suggest his recovery is still a slow process.

We are where we are with that, Chuck Pagano said earlier in August, via ESPN. There’s no timeline. When they say he’s healthy and ready to go, we’ll get him out there. He’s played a lot of football.

Game Youth Willie Brown Jersey In July, revealed Luck was back to throwing and was building strength in his arm, but then the site pumped the brakes a couple weeks later when the quarterback showed up to training camp.

Turner’s extended absence could be an issue for a wide receiver group that is much deeper than last season. He’s a guy who spent 2016 bouncing between the practice squad and active roster. With a depth chart that includes wideouts Alshon Jeffery and Torrey Smith, and with Nelson Agholor taking Jordan Matthews’ role in the slot, there might not be room for Turner over the next few weeks.

There was a bit of concern about Wentz being able to shake the loss of Jordan Matthews, but with deep threats and speedy receivers in Jeffery and Smith, it doesn’t look like the offense will be any worse off without him. The Eagles’ QB had a really good week of practice, often besting former Eagles duo CB Byron Maxwell and LB Kiko Alonso.

Game Youth Logan Couture Jersey The Dolphins and Eagles have had two joint practices leading up to Thursday’s Week 3 preseason game. With several former players on opposing sides, the matchup is bound to get a bit aggressive and chippy.

New Netflix-like company allows fans to rent Detroit Lions jerseys

According to ESPN, the company is called Rep The Squad and will let fans rent a jersey to wear and then send it back in a prepaid envelope.

For adults, the subscription will cost $19.95 a month and $16.95 a month for youth jerseys, ESPN reports.

While the company has backing from Madrona Venture Group and Maveron (co-founded by Starbucks bigshot Howard Schultz), it counts Edgar Martinez and Seahawks receiver Doug Baldwin among its investors, Geekwire reports. Richard Sherman is serving as a brand ambassador.

A former Days Inn employee previously told TMZ that she spotted the award-winning recording artist in the hotel lobby. She claimed he met Sharpton there and followed her up to her room not long after midnight.

In the weeks after it was revealed that Usher reportedly paid a woman $1.1 million in 2012 to settle a lawsuit after she claimed to have contracted herpes from him, Sharpton and two more people pressed claims against the singer, alleging he failed to warn them of his STD diagnosis. Their lawsuit has been filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

While Sharpton said she didn’t contract herpes from her alleged encounter with Usher, she is suing the R&B singer for knowingly exposing her to the virus without telling her he had it. She said hat Usher’s perceived dishonesty about his status has caused her great anguish.nike_rams_2019
